Flowdesk is hiring a Front Office Risk Manager – Crypto Credit Products & DeFi (F/M/D). The company builds a global financial institution for digital assets, providing institutional liquidity provision, trading solutions, OTC execution, and treasury management with a focus on market integrity and efficiency.
About the Role
The Front Office Risk Manager will join Flowdesk’s newly formed Risk Management team to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of counterparty credit and operational risk frameworks for crypto credit products and DeFi. This role involves close collaboration with Trading, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, and Technology teams to monitor exposures, enhance controls, and align risk profiles with strategic objectives. The position directly shapes governance, risk culture, and sustainable growth across business lines, supporting market integrity and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor bilateral and exchange-based lending exposures in real time, assess counterparty creditworthiness using quantitative and qualitative metrics, and escalate limit breaches.
- Support structuring of loans linked with options or derivatives, model default scenarios, and monitor variation margin and collateral buffers under stress.
- Oversee DeFi positions across lending protocols, AMMs, and on-chain derivatives; evaluate smart contract risks, protocol liquidity, and on-chain liquidation thresholds.
- Assess collateral quality, apply dynamic haircuts, optimize allocation between CeFi and DeFi, and run stress tests for defaults, hacks, or market moves.
- Ensure market conduct compliance, monitor abusive trading in DeFi, and act as an embedded risk partner for the desk with structuring input and analytics.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
- 5-10 years in risk management, credit trading, or structured products, ideally in crypto market making, hedge funds, or structured credit desks.
- Strong knowledge of crypto lending markets, structured products, DeFi protocols, collateral management, margining, and liquidation mechanics.
- Ability to model transactions and stress-test exposures using Python, SQL, Grafana, and on-chain data sources like Dune, Nansen, DeFiLlama.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with U.S. regulatory frameworks including SEC, CFTC, FINRA rules on derivatives and digital asset lending.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; professional certifications like FRM, PRM, or CQF.

Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 base salary in the State of New York (not inclusive of discretionary bonus; determined by skillset, experience, job scope, and market data).
