Inca Digital is hiring a Software Engineer. The company is a digital asset data and intelligence firm founded in 2018, serving clients in national security, intelligence, crypto exchanges, financial institutions, regulators, and law enforcement with advanced data analytics and threat detection tools.
About the Role
The Software Engineer will join Inca Digital’s Research and Development (R&D) team on the U.S. Federal side to design and develop new data products and tools. This role involves reporting to the Head of R&D for prioritization, product design, and training, while processing internal and external data sources into APIs, dashboards, and alerts. The small, collaborative team supports products, investigations, and research directly used by clients across defense, intelligence, regulation, enforcement, finance, and crypto.
What You’ll Do
- Report to the Head of R&D for task prioritization, product design, and subject-matter training.
- Consume, process, store, and analyze internal and external data sources.
- Productize data into APIs, dashboards, and alerts for client use.
- Collaborate with other teams on investigations, research, and product support.
- Suggest solutions, propose changes, and contribute unique perspectives in a highly collaborative environment.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
- Experience with source control tool sets (Git).
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes (GitHub Actions, AWS Code).
- Understanding of containerized environments (Kubernetes/Docker).
- Developing batch ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Experience deploying and working with relational databases and file storage.
- Performing data acquisition from source databases and APIs.
- Comfortable with Python and SQL programming/querying languages.
- American citizenship; security clearance required.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with data storage solutions: Amazon S3, RDS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j.
- Experience with Kafka and Airflow.
- Building, testing, and training models.
- Knowledge of cloud resource provisioning, configuration, and automation.
- Familiarity with NLP techniques & LLMs.
- Familiarity with blockchains & smart contracts.
- Familiarity with financial and banking sectors.
- GraphQL, GoLang, Java, Solidity, Vyper, Bitcoin Script, CIPHER, SPL (Splunk’s Search Processing Language).
- Prior experience in financial services, particularly trading venues.
- Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks (SEC, CFTC, FINCEN, CSA, CSC, etc.).
