Inca Digital is hiring a R&D Software Engineer (federal & commercial). The company is a Digital Asset Data and Intelligence firm founded in 2018, serving national security, intelligence agencies, crypto exchanges, financial institutions, regulators, and law enforcement with tools like crypto contagion risk mapping and regulatory software.
Inca Digital’s R&D Software Engineer role focuses on designing and developing new data products and tools for federal and commercial clients. Engineers on the R&D team process internal and external data sources, building batch ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, dashboards, and alerts while collaborating across product, investigations, research, and data teams. The position reports to the head of R&D for prioritization, product design, and training, emphasizing asynchronous workflows in a fast-paced, remote environment.
What You’ll Do
- Report to the head of R&D for prioritization, product design, and subject matter training.
- Consume, process, store, analyze, and productize data from internal and external sources.
- Develop batch ETL/ELT data pipelines and perform data acquisition from databases and APIs.
- Deploy and work with relational databases and file storage solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to suggest solutions, propose changes, and contribute unique perspectives on products used by clients.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
- Experience with source control tool sets (Git).
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes (GitHub Actions, AWS Code).
- Understanding of containerized environments (Kubernetes/Docker).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Programming/querying languages: GraphQL, GoLang, Java, Solidity, Vyper, Bitcoin Script, CIPHER, SPL (Splunk’s Search Processing Language).
- Experience with data storage: Amazon S3, RDS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j; Kafka and Airflow.
- Building, testing, and training models; NLP techniques & LLMs; blockchains & smart contracts; financial/banking familiarity.
- Prior experience in financial services (trading venues); global regulatory frameworks (SEC, CFTC, FINCEN, CSA, CSC).
