About the Role
The Head of Regulatory Affairs and Licensing will lead Tether’s regulatory efforts in the Middle East, focusing on crypto-asset and stablecoin compliance. This role involves translating company policy into favorable regulations, managing stakeholder relationships with regulators, central banks, and internal teams like Operations, Finance, and Business Development. Reporting to the Vice President of Regulatory and Licensing, the position supports business expansion across Tether’s verticals in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor regulatory developments and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, central banks, and financial intelligence units in the Middle East.
- Represent Tether in consultations, workshops, industry roundtables, and regulatory dialogues; prepare briefing papers and policy submissions.
- Conduct licensing assessments and lead efforts to obtain regulatory authorizations with local advisors.
- Advise leadership on regulatory constraints for new products or expansions; contribute to internal reporting on policy risks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align regulatory strategy with broader business objectives.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
- Minimum 8 years in governmental affairs, regulatory affairs, or legal experience in financial services or crypto-asset industry in the Middle East.
- Proven leadership of regulatory affairs teams with achievements securing favorable policy positions.
- Experience working with regulators and government bodies; excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex topics.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Strong team player capable of managing stakeholders across borders and time zones.
- Public speaking experience and hands-on collaboration in fast-paced settings.
